Excitement in West & East Eggs

The 1920’s is an era of major change. There were many changes in fashions, music, inventions, politics, and the big stock market crash. The two that mainly tie into the Great Gatsby so far are the fashions and music. The change of these two created a new era of what was called the “Flappers”.

These Flappers looked at themselves to be very outgoing, extravagant, and different from everyone else. Flappers often consisted of Young people who began to model themselves on movie and sports stars that represented a glamorous new age. With all the good people thought the Flappers brought, they soon realized that some of their habits seemed to be immoral. What we mean by this is they often smoked, use vulgarity, and were selfish at times.

In The Great Gatsby many of the parties on the East and West Eggs consisted of Flappers. This often brought more excitement to parties and lured people to future ones.

  1. Good post. Pictures are well chosen. I don't understand why you have a modern music player at the top of the blog, or youtube videos on your sidebar that have nothing to do with Gatsby, or Michael Buble? Your sidebar should match your theme. Your blog is about the 1920's. This is hurting your post score. 68/75
